LINX builds awareness across Australia to support White Ribbon
Hundreds of employees from LINX Cargo Care Group joined forces with White Ribbon on Friday 27 July to support White Ribbon Night.
To celebrate the partnership, LINX Cargo Care Group facilitated awareness sessions at their sites across the country with White Ribbon Ambassadors who inspired employees with their personal stories.
White Ribbon is the world’s largest movement of men and boys working to end men’s violence against women and girls, promoting gender equality, healthy relationships and a new vision of masculinity.
White Ribbon Australia (White Ribbon), as part of this global movement, aims to create an Australian society in which all women can live in safety, free from violence and abuse.
LINX Cargo Care Group CEO Anthony Jones is delighted by the partnership with White Ribbon, and the opportunity it provides the LINX Cargo Care group of companies to raise awareness and promote education across its workforce, and the broader supply chain and logistics industry.
Anthony Jones, LINX Cargo Care Group CEO said “As an organisation that believes firmly in equality and a safe working environment for absolutely everyone, LINX Cargo Care Group proudly supports White Ribbon Australia and their goals through the LINX Foundation. We stand up, speak out and act to prevent men’s violence against women.”
The LINX Foundation commenced in early 2018 and aims to contribute and give back to the communities in which the LINX group of companies operate. The LINX Foundation supports nominated charities and community groups which are important to LINX Cargo Care Group employees and align to our company values – White Ribbon being one of the chosen charities.
“The stats are frightening. Every day there is another news report of violence against women. As a large organisation in a male dominated industry, LINX Cargo Care Group has the opportunity to build awareness and provide education on this major social issue which is impacting our families, friends and communities,” Mr Jones said.
“White Ribbon is delighted that LINX Cargo Care Group have come on board as our newest Bronze Partner. They are setting an example by standing up, speaking out and acting to end men’s violence against women.” – Tracy McLeod Howe, CEO, White Ribbon Australia.
